Class
Act Players
Class
Act Players
became a reality on February 29th, 2008. Young, aspiring
theatre artists from all over Madison and Buncombe Counties
auditioned, and twelve talented and dedicated performers
were chosen. This elite group is North Carolina’s only
touring troupe of young actors.
These exceptional students have come together as a company
of performers that will tour throughout western North
Carolina, bringing live theatre to retirement communities,
community centers, schools, and other venues where those
who might not get to the theatre, have the theatre brought
to them.
Another goal of the company is to expand the horizons of
both the audience and the performers, by exploring artistic
expressions from original works to puppetry to Shakespeare.
First Stage is committed to the bettering of young minds
through the collaborative process of theatre.
The rules of CAP reflect our mission. First Stage is
committed to teaching the life lessons and skills that
produce confident, well-rounded adults.
CAP RULES
BE THERE
Mandatory attendance is required for all participants. Two
(2) unexcused absences will be accepted. A third unexcused
absence will result in immediate dismissal from the
company.
ACCEPT THE JOB
Company members must fulfill the duties required of them
for any given project. The focus of CAP is on the team as a
whole. not the individual. A member’s specific duties may
change from project to project.
BE PROFESSIONAL
Professionalism is the key of being a Class Act Player.
From rehearsals to performances to public events, every
member of the company should conduct themselves in manner
befitting a theatre professional.
BE A LEADER
Members should, at every opportunity possible, take the
initiative and lead by example. Each member of the team
should constantly be on the lookout for ways in which they
can contribute to the greater good. This not only builds
confidence in you but in others as well.
LEND A HAND
One of the primary goals of the Class Act Players is to
help other people. We help them by donating our time,
talent and energy to theatrical performances. We also help
by seeing to the needs of others on a personal basis in our
everyday lives. And, within the company itself, we must
commit to helping each other in whatever ways we can. A
Class Act Player is someone who is more concerned with what
they give than what they get.
